Common mistake

Wrong: ¿Dónde es la estación?

Right: ¿Dónde está la estación?

Where something is takes estar; ser only places events: la fiesta es en mi casa.

MarkoThe presente covers both English presents: ¿qué haces? means what are you doing? Save estar + -ando for an action you want to show in progress: estoy cocinando, no puedo hablar.
